Behind the Hustle

I wrote a post on my Facebook page recently and wanted to share it here as well.

Here’s an honest post… a long one, but a real one.

I’m an early 50s mom, in full menopause (with all the “fun” that comes with that). I have kids still at home, a full-time job I need to stay in for the next 13 years to secure my pension, and a side hustle — Precious Lune — that I hope will eventually become part of my retirement plan.

And I want to say something that doesn’t get said enough:

Building a side hustle is not all shiny and rosy like social media makes it seem.

It’s late nights when you’re already exhausted.
It’s trying to find creativity when your brain feels foggy.
It’s juggling responsibilities and feeling like you’re not fully showing up anywhere.
It’s wanting it so badly… but not always having the energy or focus to give it what it deserves.

Some days I have ideas and no energy.
Some days I have energy and no ideas.
And some days… I have neither.

There are moments I question if I’m doing enough, or if this will ever become what I hope it will be.

But then I remind myself — this is my reality right now.
And building something slowly is still building something.

I wish I could dedicate more time to my side hustle.

Realistically, I’d need to hire someone to manage my social media — Facebook, Instagram, YouTube — to keep things consistent and growing… but I’m just not in that place right now.

So instead, I do what I can.

I keep booking tables at psychic fairs and craft fairs on weekends, because that’s the time I have. That’s where I show up, connect, and share what I’ve created.

One day, I’ll be able to focus more on my website and the online side of things.

In the meantime, thank you for your patience with my sporadic posts… and for sticking around through the random photo dumps of suncatchers and bracelets I’ve made for upcoming fairs.

Every piece I make carries a bit of this journey — the messy, the meaningful, the in-between.

If you’ve ever supported my small business, shared a post, or even just followed along… thank you. It matters more than you know.

This isn’t a sprint for me — it’s a long game.

Not perfect. Not polished. Just real.
